The Travel Maestro Story

The Travel Maestro is a luxury travel agency founded in July 2015. Patrick Millard, President & Founder, started The Travel Maestro after working for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for more than 10 years, after realizing a need for a luxury travel service that provided inside knowledge of the innerworkings of luxury hotels and resorts and combining that knowledge with a passion for travel.

The Travel Maestro is a boutique, client-focused luxury travel agency working with only the best tour partners, hotels and resorts and cruise lines all over the world. We pride ourselves on creating unique travel itineraries for our clients who are looking for exceptional experiences that cannot be found using Google or anywhere else. 

 

Whether it's a pasta making class at a family's personal home in Tuscany or sitting down with a world-renowned designer at their workshop to create a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes or a couture dress, we make it happen for our clients.

As the world continues to change and technology brings us closer together in many ways of our life, it has negatively impacted customer service especially for the most discerning travelers wanting a luxury and customer-focused experience when they travel. When Patrick started The Travel Maestro in July 2015, it was driven by the principles of providing the best customer service to our discerning clients who expect the very best when they travel.

Patrick started his career working as club level concierge and front desk agent at The Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. before being promoted to a Front Office Supervisor and Overnight Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Boston, then eventually going into hospitality sales and working his way up to becoming a Senior Regional Sales Manager for all of The Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts in the Caribbean & Mexico.  Having worked on the front lines of luxury hotels and resorts, it gives Patrick a unique ability and insider touch to ensure clients receiving the highest level of service during their trips.

Patrick has traveled to more than 40 countries around the world on 6 continents. He was born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland a suburb of Washington, D.C., and he has also lived in Boston, MA, Half Moon Bay, CA, and Miami, FL. He now resides on Amelia Island, Florida with his wife, Kathryn, two sons, Maxwell and Alexander, and their chihuahua, Daisy Fuentes.

Heather is a Michigan girl at heart, though she knew early on that was not where she would stay.  After graduating from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, she moved to the sunshine state.  It was there that she found a passion for the hospitality industry and worked for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for nearly eight years.

After spending three amazing years living out west in Colorado, she and her family happily landed back on Amelia Island, Florida.  Heather has been with The Travel Maestro since January 2019.  She loves helping clients enjoy a seamless travel experience; it's such a reward.  It really is the small details that can transform an idea for a trip into the adventure of a lifetime!

There are still so many places left to see but for now, when Heather is not traveling or helping plan travel, you can find her enjoying the outdoors and small town living with her husband, two children and their sweet Labrador, Kona.

Kerry loves the experiences travel has provided her throughout life, from skiing in Colorado or visiting National Parks, then throughout the Caribbean snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays on Grand Cayman or sharks in Maui.  Kerry has also backpacked throughout Europe, visiting relatives in Ireland and then on to South America visiting friends in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These opportunities inspired her to major in Hospitality Management at The Ohio State University, which allowed her to turn her love for travel into a career.

Kerry began her professional career devoting over eleven years to The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, working at their hotels in Cleveland, Ohio, Amelia Island and finally at Naples Beach resort in Florida. Taking the high-quality standards instilled upon her from The Ritz-Carlton, she ventured into the private club world at the prestigious Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Naples. The experience and knowledge she has gained over the years with these luxury hospitality companies have strengthened her skills in organization, passion for details and a keen eye for excellence which will only further assist her in planning future luxury travel experiences.

Prior to returning to her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri to raise her family, Carolyn made travel and hospitality a priority.

  Her enthusiasm for adventure and the underwater world led her from an internship at National Geographic to starting her career in hospitality with The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. as a PADI Scuba diving instructor. She later moved into a concierge role and was promoted to Guest Relations Coordinator of The Ritz-Carlton Club. 

 

After spending three years in the U.S. Virgin Islands, she moved back to the Midwest to manage special events and enter the travel industry.

Travel planning can be stressful and time-consuming.  Carolyn enjoys managing the details to make the experience exceptional. She has traveled extensively, lived abroad, and appreciates both active and relaxing luxury travel. She looks forward to helping others create lasting memories.

Megan earned her Finance degree from Florida State University. While on summer break from school in 2009, Megan found herself drawn to the world of hospitality and began working at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Over the next five years, she immersed herself in the industry, honing her skills and cultivating a passion for luxury travel.

 

Seeking a new challenge, Megan transitioned to the finance industry. However, her time in this field revealed that her heart truly belonged in hospitality and the luxury travel sector. In 2017, Megan joined The Travel Maestro for a year-long stint as a Luxury Travel Coordinator. In 2018, the call of motherhood led her to take a hiatus when her second daughter was born, embracing a new role as a stay at home mom.

In 2024, with her children a bit older, Megan decided to return to The Travel Maestro, bringing her wealth of experience back to the team. Beyond her professional pursuits, Megan finds solace and joy in reading, hunting for shark's teeth, and nurturing her extensive collection of houseplants. Megan lives in Amelia Island, Florida with her husband, three young children, and two beloved dogs.
